Lois McClure

Lois served as vice president of the Foundation from its inception in 1995 through 2001, when she succeeded her husband as president. She transitioned to President Emerita in 2017. Three generations of her family have published The Burlington Free Press and served as boosters of Chittenden County. Lois and her husband devoted over three decades to philanthropic efforts in Vermont and she has continued the couple’s practice of “giving with warm hands” since her husband's passing in 2004. Lois has been the recipient of honorary doctorate degrees from the University of Vermont, St. Michael’s College, Champlain College, and the College of St. Joseph.
