Janet McLaughlin
Janet is Deputy Commissioner for Vermont's Department of Children and Families. Prior to this role, she was CEO of the Vermont Association for the Education of Young Children (VTAEYC) and Chief Operating Officer of Let's Grow Kids, working to advance the early education field and provide affordable access to high-quality child care for all Vermont families by 2025. Janet was previously the Executive Director of Vermont Birth to Five, an initiative of Let's Grow Kids. And prior to that, Janet was Special Projects Director at the Vermont Community Foundation, a position she assumed in 2013. From her work directing the Community Foundation’s Food & Farm Initiative, Janet brings experience with multi-sector, collaborative programs that aim to promote equity. Janet has a Masters of Public Administration with a specialization in Nonprofit Management from Syracuse University and her undergraduate degree from Harvard University.
